The Benefits Of Ultrasonic Liposuction

By Adriana Noton

The process of removing excess fat from the body by using high-pitched sound waves is called ultrasonic liposuction. In this way the fat deposits in some parts of the body are transformed into a liquid form or just melted, after which they can be removed. The most commonly used liposuction procedure is the tumescent liposuction procedure and the ultrasonic liposuction is often used after it, to reach out to the areas of the body which could not be treated by the earlier procedure. Such areas of the body are the chin, neck, cheeks, knees, calves and ankles.

The main advantage of the ultrasonic liposuction procedure is the ability to work with it on details. Once some fat has already been removed with the help of another liposuction procedure, the ultrasonic liposuction procedure can just complete the job by doing the 'fine tuning'. If the volumes of fat are large and the fat deposit is dense, the ultrasonic procedure is ideal for the job. Besides, it removes all the extra skin around and makes the skin tight. It is indeed a good alternative to the tummy tuck.

Ultrasonic liposuctions are said to break up cellulite. Treatment of delicate areas like the abdomen, back, buttocks, face and neck is done with the utmost care and no large tissue damage ensues. Also, the removal of fat from the patient's body is done in large quantities, because of which the bleeding is also reduced by almost 50% less than in other liposuction procedures.

The ultrasonic liposuction procedure is also known as the UAL procedure and is favored by most plastic surgeons, mainly because the process of extracting the fact is relatively easy using less suction. This is possible because the ultrasonic waves turn the fat so thoroughly into a liquid form, that the extraction can be done with ease. When a patient needs to get rid of large amounts of fat on the body, UAL is an advantageous solution. An equally popular procedure is the laser hair removal.

The advanced technology used in the ULA procedure is indeed commendable, because it breaks down the fatty cells into a liquid form and prepares it to be transported out of the body through a cannula. This modern technology has shown remarkable body contouring results.

Just as there are advantages and benefits of the UAL procedure, there are certain risks and problems involved with it. It is however important to make the patient aware of the pros and cons of the procedure, even though it is considered one of the safest liposuction procedures today. No severe damages of tissues are inflicted on the patient's body and there are no abnormalities. It all depends on the skill and experience of the plastic surgeon who carries out the procedure, and hence it is important to make a good choice on your part.

Many individuals require a perfect body weight and maintain a superior health condition. Sometimes surplus body fat is difficult to reduce and diet or workout may not help to get rid of the fat from a certain body part. For such patients the UAL procedure is ideal and after it recovery is quite fast.

Of course there are many benefits of the UAL procedure and plastic surgeons like to use it simply because of its precision and accuracy. But there can be some disadvantages too. Sometimes the ultrasonic waves can create a disturbance and this can result in burns or it can damage the nerves too. Also, the surgery may leave behind some scars due to the incisions made on the patient's skin. - 31997
